Founded in 2000, Admission Statements, LLC is an unrivaled editing service for law school applicants. We have drawn together a team of editors with extensive writing/teaching experience who provide one-on-one mentoring to help you tell your unique story in your own authentic voice.
We are extremely selective in choosing our editors. (Out of every hundred applicants, we keep about two.) In addition to being excellent writers in their own right, our editors have demonstrated their abilities to teach, mentor, and draw great writing out of clients.
Unlike many editing services, we do not hire undergraduate students or tutors with only bachelor’s degrees. Our editors are attorneys and writing professors with decades of writing and teaching experience.
All our editors work in collaboration with our Managing Editors, Matt Kennington and Matt Crosby.
Matt Kennington is a Founder and Managing Editor of Admission Statements. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University where he worked as a Senior Editor on Law Review and helped teach Legal Writing. He also taught university-level Creative Writing and LSAT-prep courses. Matt worked for two law firms, Kutak Rock and Parry Anderson & Mansfield, before leaving his law career to manage ASLLC, teach, and write.
Matt Crosby became a Managing Editor at ASLLC in 2002. In his nine years of experience working on personal statements, he has helped hundreds of clients win admission to Ivy League and other top-tier schools. He has an MFA in Creative Writing from Boise State University and teaches various university writing courses, including creative nonfiction. He has been the Associate Editor for the Idaho Review and has edited pieces by Ann Beattie, Rick Bass, Pam Houston, Brady Udall, and other top writers.
